Recycle For Southend
Welcome to Southend's Big Recycling Community

Recycling in Southend is so easy to do. Every single one of us has an important part to play in helping Southend reach a 60% recycling rate by 2015.

Across Southend, residents currently recycle 48% of their rubbish

Together we can make it easier to recycle. We can improve how we recycle at home and make the most of all the services that are available. We can also help our friends, family and neighbours to recycle more too. This web site is full of tops tips to make sure you can recycle as much of your household waste as possible every week.

Why not show your support for recycling in Southend by signing our e-pledge. Recycle for Southend is such a worthwhile thing to do. So don't keep it to yourself - tell your friends and neighbours and together we can make sure we are all recycling as much of our waste as we can. You could even think about joining our fantastic team of Recycling Champions!

Recycle for Southend is a campaign led by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, and its waste contractor Cory Environmental to encourage the local community to recycle even more to reach the 60% recycling target by 2015.

NEW ELECTRICAL RECYCLING SCHEME

In September this year we introduced a free kerbside collection of small electrical items for all households. This means it’s even easier to recycle things like your unwanted kettles, toasters and hairdryers. Just place them in a normal carrier bag on your scheduled collection day and we’ll pick them up and take them to be recycled. It really is that easy!
